The hospital's mission statement was developed by and for its staff in 2002. It represents the value code to which all hospital staff feel committed. We not only see the mission statement as a signpost and goal for the hospital, but also as an initiator for mutually planned changes.
So that you, as a patient, visitor, relative, cooperation partner or simply an interested person have to opportunity to find out more about our mission statement, we have made the relevant text available here.
We look forward to talking with you about our mission statement.
The Wilhelmsburg Groß-Sand Hospital belongs to the Catholic Parish of St. Bonifatius. In the Christian tradition of charitable action and the service community based on the Episcopal fundamental order of church service, we have been providing this service to sick people in the district of Wilhelmsburg since the hospital was founded in 1950. The Christian view of man serves as the basis and measure for our work; it allows us to have a holistic understanding of people.
This is derived from the very foundation that human dignity is sacrosanct for all people, irrespective of their physical or psychological condition, their religion or world-view, their origin or social position.
We support pastoral care for people of all denominations.
The mission statement is the signpost and the goal of our hospital. It provides impulses for positive changes, which we develop in mutual dialogue.
The human being is at the centre of our action.
On this basis, it is our goal that people experience competent healing, relief, accompaniment and comfort in all phases of life based on trust.
We devote time to this and consider the individual needs and wishes.
From admission right through to discharge, we plan our action jointly with our patients and their relatives.
We provide comprehensive information on illnesses, their course, treatment and follow-up treatment as well as about possibilities to promote health.
Our cooperation is marked by trust, loyalty, friendliness, respect, equality and tolerance. Everybody assumes a role model function within their department whereby management has a particular responsibility.
Decisions are taken responsibly and those affected are comprehensively informed; ideas and objections by staff receive equal serious consideration as the personal needs. Retaining and promoting our employees' health has a high priority and is designed according to appropriate offers according to legal requirements.
We gain and develop our competence by way of regular education, training and further education. To achieve our joint goals, it is indispensable that we have equality in our communication and collaboration on all levels.
We take time in our discussions and listen. We want to create trust by honesty and friendliness.
A constant exchange of information allows for dedicated cooperation between various professional groups. Openness and reciprocal interests leave room for diversity of opinion and new ideas.
In the collaboration with our patients we distinguish ourselves through clear responsibilities and commitment.
Economic action is one of the basic requirements to secure the hospital's livelihood long-term. We handle the resources made available to us responsibly. The well-being and the recovery of our patients remain unaffected by these goals.
We wish to actively support the environment through our daily behaviour. Among other things, this includes the cost-efficient use of raw materials as well as measures regarding the avoidance and disposal of waste.
We strive to implement our mission statement to the well-being of all. The mission statement comes alive through the creativity and initiative realised by each and every one of us.
In the same way as the requirements and regulations change, so our mission statement has a dynamic character and is in a constant process of further development.
