Consulting hours for industrial accidents
Wilhelmsburg Groß-Sand Hospital treats severe industrial accidents 24-hours a day. After their initial treatment, patients with industrial accidents can continue to be treated at our trade association's out-patient department.
Consulting hours: Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays from 14:30
Consulting hours: Surgery
We have set up special pre- and post in-patient consulting hours in our surgical department.
To avoid long waiting periods, we kindly ask you to make an appointment with the Surgery secretary by phoning: +49 (0) 75205-225.
Always from 12:00 to 15:00.
During these consulting hours, you will be examined and advised by a specialist, that is to say by a chief physician or the head physician. We kindly ask you to bring along all previous examination results and findings, as well as the referral by your general practitioner. Should surgery be required, the diagnostics, the operation itself and the follow-up treatment will be discussed with you in detail.
As far as possible, any missing preliminary examinations will be carried out immediately as an outpatient. Should it be necessary, your general practitioner will receive detailed information with the request to complete the diagnostics prior to the operation. An anaesthetist will explain the naesthetical process in detail and we will make a fixed appointment for your operation. Usually, your operation will be on the day of admission to the hospital. Immediately after the operation, we will monitor you with all the safety equipment of our modern hospital. If your condition allows, you may leave the hospital on the day of your operation. We will give you a detailed list of behavioural recommendations for your home environment. Upon discharge from our short-term surgery, you will receive an appointment to present yourself at our outpatient clinic during their consulting hours.
Geriatric endoprosthesis consulting hours
These consulting hours are intended for older patients with numerous and serious accompanying illnesses who require an artificial knee or hip joint. Here you will not only be examined and advised by a specialist surgeon but also by an anaesthetist, internist and specialist for geriatric medicine.
Any required preliminary examinations can be planned together with your general practitioner. Together we shall ensure that the accompanying illnesses are adjusted and the operation can be carried out with the highest level of safety.
Rehabilitation already starts on the day prior to the operation: Under the supervision of a physiotherapist, patients learn how to walk using forearm crutches, so that they are mobile as quickly as possible after the operation.
Please be sure to mention that you want to take part in this when registering by telephone as capacities are limited.
