Bone / joint injuries:
Our surgical department treats accident injuries including industrial accidents and orthopaedic diseases of the musculoskeletal system. Each operation is either performed or accompanied by a specialist.
Fractures, in particular those to arms and legs, are surgically treated with state-of-the-art processes and implants which allow for follow-up treatment without the use of a plaster cast.
- Angle-stable plates, screws and intramedullary pins
- Titanium implants
- Modern intramedullary pins and wires for fractures to long bones
- Arthroscopic procedures (keyhole surgery)
Endoprosthesis implantation:
- knee joint replacement
- hip joint replacement
- shoulder prosthesis
This is where the selection of the implants takes place depending on the gravity of the disease. If necessary, this is carried out by way of a computer-aided navigation technology.
- Arthroscopic surgery (arthroscopy) on the shoulder joint (stabilisation of instabilities, removal of the shoulder impingement syndrome, taking care of shoulder cap defects, removal of inflammatory bursa and calcifications, mobilisation under anaesthesia for a frozen shoulder).
- Arthroscopic surgery (arthroscopy) on the knee joint.
Knee-joint surgery
- The surgical procedure is determined by the patient's age, the place and characteristics of the fracture. So, for example, radius fractures close to the wrist can often be stabilised with wire after they have been set via tiny incisions. Many severely displaced fractures in children can often be stabilised in an anatomically conform manner using titanium wiring in the medullar cavity using minimally invasive incisions whilst protecting the so-called growth plates.
- Leg axes corrections
- Hand surgery:
Treatment of fractures, tendon injuries, carpal tunnel surgery, aponeurosis shortening (Dupuytren's contraction). - Foot surgery:
Corrective surgery for hallux valgus, hallux rigidus and hammer toes, wherever possible so that the joints are retained. - Stabilisation of osteoporotic vertebral body fracture by injecting bone cement (kyphoplasty and vertebroplasty) in cooperation with Dr. Auffermann.
- Treatment of deteriorative illnesses to the spine (sciatica, slipped disc) by an individual pain-therapy (medication, baths, electro-therapy and physiotherapy, incl. lymph drainage)
- Treatment of industrial accidents, school accidents (24-hour emergency treatment, bone-joint consulting hours: Monday, Wednesday and Friday always at 14:30, in-patient treatment - Registration under Tel. +49 (0) 40 - 75205 - 225 + 49 (0) 40 - 75205 - 6233)
